World Book Day 2025

On Thursday 6th March, Queensway staff and children dressed as their favourite book characters and embraced the love for reading all day. Children across the school took part in activities and live lessons, exploring different authors and genres.

As always, it was so lovely to see the variety of costumes throughout the school. Each year group showcased their outfits to one another. Here are some outfits from Reception and Year 4!

The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and ended the celebrations with a shared reading assembly. This meant children could choose the book they wanted to listen to and visited different classrooms to hear their chosen book. These ranged from biographies about Taylor Swift to fact books about wild animals.

During the day, children who had participated in the book swap got to take home their new book. There were so many high-quality books to choose from.

A new addition to World Book Day was ‘The Masked Reader’ where children had to guess which member of staff was behind the book, using any clues. This went very well and the children have already asked if we can do it again next year.
