Parent Teachers Association
What is the PTA?
The PTA is an organisation of parents, who along with staff from the school, encourage closer links between the school and home. The PTA are best known for their fundraising work along with a useful social function too. We have two purposes of equal importance. Firstly, we raise money to help fund activities and equipment that the school can’t fund from its normal budget. Secondly, we also provide social opportunities and fun activities for everyone to enjoy together, helping to promote the family and community atmosphere that is so important to our children’s experience of school. The PTA’s committee and Mrs Horbury-Jakeman will decide together on how the funds raised will be spent. And the good news is, you are all members! Once your child joins the school you automatically become a PTA member, so have your say and come and join one of our meetings. We would love to see you there!
We are always looking for people to help us to carry out our events. As the saying goes, many hands make light work - this is so true! We also understand that many parents work, have younger children at home and the general day-to-day pressure of life can all mean that free time is short supply. However, if you can and would like to help, we would love for you to get involved.
How to get involved: When we have an event, we will send an email or letter home. If you can support that event in any way, then please respond by return of email or by filling the slip in at the bottom of the letter. We will then contact you to discuss it further.
